News: Gwamba Unveils Star-Studded Line-Up for 'Landlord Pakwao' Concert

Malawian rapper Gwamba is bringing together some of the country's biggest names in music for his highly anticipated Landlord Pakwao Concert, with Nigerian superstar Ruger set to headline the star-studded affair.

The concert is scheduled for August 1, 2026, at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, with the event expected to celebrate Gwamba's musical journey while bringing together fans and artists for what is shaping up to be one of Malawi's biggest live music events this year.

The official programme kicks off at 12:00 noon, with gates opening ahead of the first performances at 4:00 PM.

The afternoon line-up features Bandera, Chizmo, Zonke, Loiso, Miracle Chinga, Frank Ro, Ca$ino, Aidfest & Kineo and Charisma, before the evening performances continue with Teddy Makadi, Malinga, Saint, Eli Njuchi and Kell Kay.

Gwamba is scheduled to take the stage at 11:00 PM, before Ruger makes his highly anticipated appearance at midnight. Joe Ikon follows at 1:15 AM, with Zeze Kingston listed to close out the programme from 2:00 AM onwards.

Ruger's appearance is expected to be one of the night's biggest highlights, marking the Nigerian star's first performance in Malawi. The "Asiwaju" hitmaker has already sent a message to Malawian fans confirming that he will be performing live at the concert.

The event has also attracted significant corporate backing, with FDH Bank Plc coming on board as the official financial partner and Ekhaya Group as the official catering partner. FDH Bank is expected to provide digital payment solutions at the event, while Ekhaya Group will handle food and beverage services for patrons.

The move to Bingu National Stadium also reflects the scale of the event, with organizers expecting the concert to create income opportunities for more than 1,500 people across areas including security, vending, transportation, stage management and other event support services.

With a line-up that brings together some of Malawi's established artists, emerging talent, and an international headliner, the Landlord Pakwao Concert is shaping up to be a major moment on Malawi's 2026 entertainment calendar.
