News: Yartii (@yartti_tm) Unveils Tales of a Dreamer EP: A Debut That redefines AfroCulture
Every so often, an artist arrives not just only to add the soundscape, reshape it. For Yarrti the self-styled architect of AfroCulture; his first debut solo project "Tales of a Dreamer" is less of an introduction and more of a manifesto. A six track journey that weaves together rhythm, melody and narrative, the EP reflects the spirit of an artist determined to create his own way and at the same time pay the ones who taught him.”
"Jailer" is the first single of the album, and from its inception, Yarrti drags the audience to an enchanting wear-off groove that is both perplexing and addictive. The song starts to gain momentum slowly and ends with the full singing of the hook - a confirmation of the artist's not only vocal, but also storytelling talent, where he blends the emotions of both hearts and feet.
Yarrti goes on brilliantly with "This", a bass-heavy, dreamy track that puts his vocal weaponry and lyrical progression to the fore. Here Yarrti showcases his Ghanaian inspired layered seamlessly with contemporary rhythms, a perfect-if not somewhat ironic-combination of completely different musical worlds without losing his innate personality.
However, Tales of a Dreamer comprise more than just catchiest singles. It is the achievement of Yarrti's whole concept: without reservation or theatrics, a bold shout of who he is and what he stands for. Besides, he never simply fuses styles; rather, he connects faraway lands.
This EP is his open invitation into the world of AfroCulture, an Africa-rooted yet worldwide-reaching movement.
Yarrti is not mutually exclusive to collaborative works nor impressive achievements - the joint project "The Sandwich Tape" he did with Juma Mufasa turned heads, while his current discography has already had almost half a million streams across platforms. Nevertheless, "Tales of a Dreamer" is different. It's the sound of an artist stepping into his own, confident and unburdened, daring enough to dream and disciplined enough to deliver.
"Tales of a Dreamer" for instance, is not simply about music but identity, the power of imagination, and the will to be the ones telling the African tales on an international stage.
Yarrti has already made it clear: this is only the beginning, yet it is already memorable.
