Returning to the urban scene, Bulawayo Hip-Hop sensation Mlue Jay ends the silence with the announcement of his latest release, "Utshintshi," featuring Triggerman.
Breaking his hiatus from the vibrant South African rap scene, "Utshintshi" marks Mlue Jay's latest offering following his earlier release this year, "Grateful."
This new single showcases a collaboration with Johannesburg-based rapper Triggerman, with audio production handled by Ray B from the USA. It's a sneak peek into Mlue Jay's upcoming album, "uMSAPHAZI," slated for release later this year.
Mlungisi Dombo Moyo, better known by his stage name Mlue Jay, is a Zimbabwean award-winning Hip-Hop artist and the founder of YeahWeLit Entertainment, currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. With a unique style and innovative approach to music, Mlue Jay captivates listeners with his introspective lyrics and distinct sound.
Having bagged awards such as Best Hip-Hop Artist at the 2023 Bulawayo Arts Awards and Best Diaspora at the 2023 Zim Hip-Hop Awards, Mlue Jay draws inspiration from Africa's rich cultural tapestry, seamlessly blending traditional influences with the dynamism of Hip-Hop.
Originally from Magwegwe West in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Mlue Jay's debut album "Donatella" earned him recognition, clinching the Best Diaspora award at the 2020 Zim Hip-Hop Awards.
With roots in music dating back to 2008, Mlue Jay began recording in 2010 and pursued studies in sound engineering to enhance his craft. He cites influences ranging from Lil Wayne to J. Cole, infusing his music with a diverse range of inspirations.
Having headlined successful shows like 'They Need Me' and 'A Night In Newtown,' sharing the stage with industry heavyweights such as Black Coffee, Kwesta, and Sjava, Mlue Jay has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene.
