News: Saint Realest returns with new album "Saintrified"
Malawian Afro-dancehall and Afro-fusion artist Saint Realest has officially returned with his new album "Saintrified," marking his first major project since 2023's "Ah Yami (Deluxe)."
Saint Realest has released his long-awaited album, "Saintrified," a 15-track project that sees the artist continue exploring the Afro-pop and dancehall sounds that have shaped his music in recent years.
The album arrives nearly two years after the deluxe edition of "Ah Yami," which followed the original album released in 2023. Ahead of "Saintrified," Saint spoke about taking his time away from releases, explaining that he did not want to put pressure on himself and had instead been focused on learning new ideas and creating music that could stand the test of time.
That period of experimentation comes through in the range of collaborations featured on the new project. "Saintrified" opens with "Penapake" before moving through tracks such as "Lemons," "Kilomita," "Declare," featuring Aura Nicole and "Misconceptions" with Home Grown African.
The project also brings together a number of familiar and new connections, with Tuku Kantu and Mwanaa appearing on "Daleda," Eli Njuchi joining Saint on "Something Different," while Kenyan singer Bensoul and Pressure Busspipe feature on "50/50." Daredevilz also joins Saint on "Agide."
For Saint, the album adds another chapter to a catalogue that began with his debut "Acoustic Heart" before moving through projects including "Pre-Birth" and eventually "Ah Yami." His music has continued to move between reggae, dancehall and Afro-pop, with songs such as "Una," "Delilah," "Falling" and "Ndivailira" helping establish his place within Malawi's contemporary music scene.
"Saintrified" is already making an early impact. As of October 6, the album sits at No. 1 on the Apple Music Malawi album chart, while all 15 tracks from the project occupy positions within the platform's Top 20 songs in Malawi, led by "Penapake" at No. 1.
"Saintrified" is out now on all major streaming platforms.
